“When are
we going to eat?”
When we hear that question at Guilford Child Development
– we’re ready! We learned early in our mission
that the way to a kid’s head is through their stomach.
Our “Catering for Kids” program serves 1,300
nutritious breakfasts and lunches daily to children in
12 Guilford Child Development centers, plus another 10
independent centers throughout Guilford and Randolph Counties.
Throughout our 40 year history we have served more than
13,000,000 meals to children and families.
With a capacity to serve 1,500 meals each day, our “Catering
for Kids” program is ready to serve additional independent
centers with good nutritious food prepared and transported
in clean, sanitary conditions. Our facilities consistently
rate high in the “A” sanitation grade with
ratings above 95%. Our four delivery vehicles guarantee
delivery to all centers before 11:30 a.m. each week day.
All of our meals meet standards established by the Child
and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) administered by the
United States Department of Agriculture. That means our
meals are high in nutritional value with lots of fruits
and vegetables and low in fat and sugar content. By serving
healthy, nutritious, and culturally diverse foods, kids
learn early about good eating habits, making good choices,
and maintaining healthy lifestyles.
If they’re hungry they can’t learn, so food
is serious business. At “Catering for Kids”
we take our job seriously. |
