Head Start
recognizes and supports parents as the primary educators
for their families. Our staff works closely with parents
to identify literacy needs, improve awareness on the issues
of fatherhood and assist them in assuming leadership roles.
The way that parents choose to become involved, and to
what degree, varies based on the family situation.
As part of parent involvement, Head Start offers a fatherhood
initiative program that focuses on the importance of the
father's involvement in his child's success
Parents are elected to serve on the Head Start Policy
Council, the group charged with decision making for the
program. |
