Providers On Increasing Numbers to Success (P.O.I.N.T.S.)

Project Goals:
    

• Familiarize one or two star family child care homes with the rated licensed process.
• Provide self assessments of one or two star family child care homes participating in the project.
• Develop a plan of action for increasing from a one/two star to a three or more star ratings.
• Provide technical assistance to family child care homes in completing and submitting an application to increase from a one/two family child care home to a three star or higher family child care homes. Technical assistance is also provided to maintain higher star ratings.
• Project participants will: increase their understanding of child development and age appropriate activities; learn enhanced room-arrangement skills; improve behavior management knowledge; cover such topics as health and safety and nutrition issues; and opportunities will be created to network among  peers and establish new relations and mutual support.
