Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies are hubs for many diverse child care activities in North Carolina. CCR&R agencies provide permanent, local, adaptable structures through which public and private groups work together to enhance the accessibility and affordability of child care.

The role of CCR&R agencies is to coordinate, collaborate, create and implement services that enhance the quality of child care and early childhood program in the community. As an CCR&R, Regional Child Care Resources and Referral (RCCR&R) is mandated to provide what is defined as "core services" to parents, providers, businesses, and the community.

Increased Productivity
Studies clearly show that employees with quality child care are more efficient, productive and loyal than those without it.

Reduced Overhead
Providing child care benefits can significantly reduce employee-related costs resulting from absenteeism, tardiness, turnover and replacement.

Tax Advantages
Businesses may deduct expenses for child care programs if programs meet IRS guidelines. By setting up a Dependent Care Assistance Program, employees may select pre-tax options which could reduce their tax obligations.

Responsibility to Communities
Earlier and better child care means lower taxes for everyone because it reduces the need for later interventions such as specialized education, welfare and incarceration.

Children with good self-esteem and basic education will grow up to become productive citizens and reliable employees.

Consultation
Employer information is provided regarding child care assistance through existing company benefit packages. We can evaluate the child care needs of your employees (also see Contract Services).

Referral
Information is available regarding accessible, affordable child care centers, preschools and licensed family care homes that can be tailored to your employees.

Parent Education
Training for employees regarding indicators of quality care in a child care center or family child care home.

Financial Assistance
Scholarship funds may be available for income eligible parents or guardians.

Surveys
Studies conducted to determine employees' child care needs and to identify viable solutions.

Resource and Referral
Enhanced services and tailored to help employees choose the child care option appropriate for their family's needs.

Work-Site Programs
Luncheon Seminars for parents are available on topics ranging from children's growth and development to current family issues. RCCR&R also refers parents to available community resources for health care and counseling.

Employer Programs
We provide the technical assistance needed to establish an on-site or near by child care center for your employees. We will walk you through the Federal, State, and Local regulations that must be met, assist you in setting up record keeping systems, answer questions as they occur, and provide ongoing support and technical assistance to your child care director. We also provide workshops and staff development programs.

In the past 2 years, the Regional Child Care Resources & Referral program has doubled the number of training opportunities it offers for day care home providers across the state. However, more training sessions are needed, especially at times and places which are convenient for hard-working caregivers.

In order to continue and expand our training program, we need your support. A small contribution can make all the difference in the lives of caregivers...and children. (All contributions to RCCR&R for training are tax-deductible!)
