General Administration - Receptionist
The Receptionist must possess general knowledge of the agency's employees and their positions, direct communications to appropriate persons, and assist guests as they enter the waiting area.

Head Start / Early Head Start Program Director
Are you a proven leader in early childhood education looking for a challenge? Guilford Child Development (GCD) is seeking a dynamic, experienced Director to oversee its Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) Program, which includes operation of twelve HS/EHS Centers with 258 staff in Guilford County, NC, serving over 1000 young children and families. GCD operates the largest single county Head Start in North Carolina. GCD offers full day Head Start, Early Head Start, and extended day care services. GCD provides services to expectant mothers through a unique alignment between EHS and Nurse-Family Partnership, an intensive evidence-based nurse home visiting program. All 4 year old classrooms have low child/staff ratios, degreed teachers, and meet other quality standards by using blended funding from the state’s preschool program (More at Four).
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the HS/EHS Director is responsible for providing vision and leadership in the development and daily management of the HS/EHS programs and initiatives within this non-profit agency. The HS/EHS Director is responsible for ensuring effective implementation of agency and program specific policies, planning for and managing daily processes and initiating continuous program improvement, program planning, communication with agency staff, policy council and parents; staff and program assessment; grant application preparation; community relations and advocacy as well as being an integral member of the leadership team for Guilford Child Development.
The position includes fiscal, personnel, planning, and program development duties. Minimum Requirements are a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (for example Human Services) along with experience in daily management activities. Prior management experience, preferably with an educational or human services agency, that includes program planning, operations and evaluation, grant preparation and use of management information systems is important. Head Start/Early Head Start experience is desirable. Applicants must have experience in fiscal and contract management including the ability to develop and manage budgets. Experience in leading planning efforts with small and large teams as well as an understanding of the Head Start philosophy and ability to implement its principles of shared authority and decision-making is important. Computer skills are also important.

Head Start / Early Head Start Assistant Center Director
The Assistant Center Director is responsible Assistant Center Director is responsible for assisting the Center Director in ensuring that the center is providing the level of quality as described by the Head Start Quality Criteria and the NAEYC Accreditation Criteria.
The ideal candidate would have a BS/BA degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education or a BS/BA with 18 semester hours in class work pertaining to the preschool education of children 0-4 preferred. An AA degree in Child Development may be accepted; at least two years experience in an early childhood education program, and supervision experience in Head Start (or a similar program) is preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to supervise others, as well as organize and implement procedures essential to the operation of a Child Development Center. Successful completion of Infant/Child or Community CPR Course and a Red Cross First Aid Course within the first 6 months of employment.

Head Start / Early Head Start Center Director

It is the responsibility of the Family Advocate to assist the family in its own efforts to set goals to improve the condition and quality of family life, to facilitate parents' awareness of community services and resources and encourage appropriate utilization of services, to maintain an outreach and recruitment process which systematically ensures enrollment of eligible children regardless of race, sex, creed, color, national origin, or handicapping condition, and to facilitate and encourage parent participation in center and program related activities.
The ideal candidate will have Completed a BSW (Social Work) or related field preferred or
applicant should be actively pursuing completion of BSW or BA in related field with 20 semester
hours completed toward the major; case management experience preferred; bi-lingual skills a
plus, have experience in Social Service area or related field through internship or volunteer
experience, have a commitment to goals and objectives of Guilford Child Development Program
with particular emphasis on provision of services to families and children, demonstrate the
ability to exhibit professional attitudes to staff, families and children and ability to carry out responsibilities with a minimum of supervision, demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have availability of automobile during working hours and a valid driver's license.
Head Start / Early Head Start Community Liason
The Community Liaison is responsibile for the recruitment of children and families for HS/EHS programs and the timely replacement of eligible children when classroom vacancies occur. This position establishes and develops partnerships with community organizations to better serve diverse populations.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum high school degree and at least two years community advocacy, outreach or similar experience; with AA degree and/or coursework in areas related to diversity issues preferred (ie: social justice, race, ethnicity, ethnic studies, gender studies, cross cultural communication, multiculturalism, etc); high interest or knowledge of issues surrounding underserved and underrepresented populations; read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job, bilingual strongly preferred, ability to manage and track performance indicators for recruitment activities, strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, respectful and courteous nature, ability to work with a diverse and multicultural staff and participants, good organizational and computer skills using software such as: Microsoft Word, EXCEL, Power Point, etc., must be accurate and detail oriented, able to work independently, demonstrating good judgement, practices good customer service skills in all working relationships, absence of criminal background, demonstrated ability to perform effectively the duties required for the job including verbal ability to communicate, auditory capacity to respond to children and adults, visual ability to complete written assignments and physical ability to complete assignments given accommodations as required by law.

The Education Specialist assists the Education Coordinator with administration of center programs to achieve the levels of quality as described by the Head Start Performance Standards, the NC Child Day Care Licensing Laws and regulations, More at Four guidelines and the NAEYC Accreditation Criteria as applicable. The Education Specialist will offer consultation and technical assistance in a variety of settings.
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, Social Work, Human Services Administration, Public Administration, B-K certification, etc. with at least five years experience in administrative or supervisory positions, of which two or more years must have been in a Head Start or equivalent early childhood setting. A minimum of an AA Degree in Child Development with more than five years experience in administrative or supervisory positions, of which two or more years must have been in a Head Start or equivalent early childhood setting is required. Responsible for working under the supervision of the Transportation Manager/Bus Driver with duties relating to the transportation of children, parents, and duties as assigned.

Catering for Kids
Cook – It is the responsibility of the cook to prepare food at the Agency Kitchen for delivery to each feeding site.
The ideal candidate will have two years experience in large quantity cooking, competency in reading, writing, and verbal skills, ability to follow oral and written instructions, and the ability to relate well to others.
Maintenance Assistant
Provides maintenance services under the direction of the Maintenance Coordinator on a regular schedule at the central office facility and at any of the 12 child development facilities operated by Guilford Child Development in accordance with safety standards described by governmental and agency regulations and policy.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum high school diploma or equivalent; at least one year experience performing maintenance duties (such as painting, electrical wiring, plumbing repair, other facility repairs and maintenance); demonstrate the ability to organize and implement procedures essential to maintaining the safety of the centers; demonstrate willingness to actively pursue skill development opportunities; demonstrated ability to perform effectively the duties required for the job, including verbal ability to communicate, auditory capacity to respond to children and adults, visual ability to complete written assignments and physical ability to complete assignments, given accommodation as required by law; a valid drivers license; demonstrate ability to perform minor repairs and to assemble equipment; ability to do light lifting.
